QUESTION & ANSWERS:

I AM NEW TO YOGA / PILATES WHERE SHOULD I START?
We definitely recommend starting with any of the ALL LEVEL classes before progressing to a Level 2 Class. However we have found that some people that pick up quickly and have good body awareness can step into a level 2 class easily. If you have injuries or limited movement a Level 2 Class in not appropriate for you.

I HAVE INJURIES WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
If it is a degenerative disease or a spinal issue you will want to get your OK from your Doctor, we will require you to supply a doctors note to us. This will also help us teach you safely. You should also speak to each instructor if you are new to them so that they are aware of your issues. In most cases we are able to help you work around most injuries using props.

I DON’T SEE MY FAVOURITE TEACHERS NAME ON THE SCHEDULE?
That’s right, our Summer Schedule is very fluid to allow instructors time off with their families. It’s like a grab bag of yoga - you don’t know who you get until you turn up to class but we can assure you all of our Instructors are wonderful. Regular schedules resume in September.

PREPARE TO BE TRANSFORMED!

This is an option for our 2 Month Unlimited or Annual Passholders to participate:

The Commitment:

YOGA & PILATES:
Commit to practicing 6 times per week, 3 must be at Open Space Yoga Studio. Handouts available for home practice.

MEDITATION:
Commit to practicing at least 15 minutes of
meditation 7 times per week for 30 consecutive days. A few minutes of class meditation does not count (except Saturday 9am class with extended meditation).

WALKING:
Or any other cardio program to get the heart pumping. Commit to a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio 3 x per week.

 

• Home practice is based on the honour system and we don't dictate how long your practice is .
• You can start your 30 days at anytime between July 5 and July 29 and must be completed by August 29, 2010.
• A practice passport will be given to all participants and your practice will be recorded on the walls of the OSY Studio. • There will be an online support blog set up to help you with your practice and your challenge goals. You will also sign a contract for your commitment. ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE??
