About
Osteoporosis is a bone disease that increases the risk of bone fractures. If you have low bone density or have osteoporosis should you practice yoga? Yoga emphasizes balance, strength-building, and alignment which can help people avoid bone injuries. Your yoga practice can support overall bone health through weight-bearing and balance postures, and can build and protect bone density. Mindfully activating and strengthening muscles can support bones. There are also some important modifications you can do in your yoga practice to avoid undue stress on the vertebrae of your spine. This workshop will highlight which poses to devote more time to and which to modify to keep your yoga practice safe for your bones.
