Pops of Silence: The Exploration of Inner Quietude

About

In this lighthearted workshop Laura will take the group through several short rounds of silence. Each round is a unique, playful way to calm the busy mind, reclaim sovereignty over one’s own attention and practice quietude—the art of being quietly present without an agenda or task to focus on. Between some of the pops, the group will commune through light sharing and reflections. This is not a sitting meditation. The pops into silence will be done in a variety of postures such as walking, standing, lying, and sitting. By the end of the workshop, participants will have new tools for finding pops of silence in their daily lives and perhaps be inspired to explore the art of quietude in their own creative way or study some of the traditional silent meditation practices. This workshop is for anyone. No experience with meditation or yoga is required. No equipment required. Journal and yoga mat are optional.
