About
Sensory motor amnesia is a learned and habituated pattern that can develop through repetitive movements or injury, where the body compensates, and the brain no longer perceives or controls the muscles associated with the pattern. Encouraging a deep and kind-hearted relationship with the body; mindful movement and somatic awareness yoga offers a unique path towards discovery, well-being and a more conscious practice that can retrain the brain and body and reawaken sensory-motor pathways. Join Christine Slavik in this workshop bringing together somatic awareness and mindful movement to embody yoga practice. It is a way to nourish and regulate the nervous system, release held and patterned tension, and enhance wellness for the mind and body. Bring your yoga mat and a blanket that covers your mat to engage somatic learning through gliding and flowing movements and an embodied mindful practice.
